You can discover in this brief video how it works our swimming pool and the filtration system.
How swimming pool sand filter works. It is a travel through the pipes pump and the filter that shows how works every part of the swimming. Sand filters consist of a large tank made of fiberglass concrete or metal containing a thick bed of special grade sand which has a squarish shape. Dirty water is fed into the filtration system through the inlet pipes which can be either from the wall mounted inlet where the skimmer will usually sit or from the pool cleaner which sucks. During filtering operation dirty water from the pool comes in through the filter s inlet pipe which leads to the water distribution head.
The pool water enters a tank through a diffuser which draws the water down into the bed of sand. The particles of debris are caught in the sand bed and the water that exits from the bottom of the filter is returned clean to the pool. Materials filtered by sand. The filters in this system are high rate sand filters.
Sand filters use 20 silica sand with grains that fall within the 45 to 55 millimeter range.
